Shoprite is the anchor tenant for the newly opened Novare Gateway mall in Abuja. This is Shoprite’s 24th store in Nigeria.
This week, Shoprite Nigeria expanded its store network, opening a new outlet in the newly-inaugurated Novare Gateway shopping mall, in Abuja. The South African retailer serves as an anchor tenant for the mall which represents a $68 million investment.
According to Trendtype’s Retail Database Tracker, Shoprite has 24 stores in Nigeria and this is the fourth outlet in Abuja. The new store has 3,000m² of retail floor space. This has been a good year for Shoprite Nigeria, with sales growing 48.2% and only one new store. The last network expansion happened in December last year in the Group’s Palms Ota Mall in Ojokoro, Sango Ota – north of Lagos.
