Burger King South Africa
Burger King South Africa is opening one more store in April 2018, in the Thavnani Mall, Limpopo. This will be Burger King’s first store in Limpopo. The Thavhani Mall will also soon be home to a KFC and a Rocomamas.

American burger chain Burger King will soon open its doors for the first time in the Limpopo province of South Africa. The new store, which will open in April 2018, will occupy a premium space between the new KFC store and the entertainment hub Hard Hats, in the 50,000m² Thavhani Mall, in the city of Thohoyandou,

Burger King South Africa first opened in Cape Town, in 2013, under a franchise model. The chain has expanded dramatically in the past years, currently having over 25 stores in Johannesburg alone. Both when it first entered the market and nowadays Burger King aims at competing with McDonald’s and KFC. McDonald’s, which has been in South Africa since 1995, has over 200 restaurants in the country, one of which in Thavhani Mall.

Burger King won’t be the only new restaurant chain to take up tenancy in the Thavhani Mall in the months to come. The mall, which is the largest in Limpopo, will also become home to new KFC and Rocomamas stores. Rocomamas – a South African hamburger chain – will be ran by its Limpopo-based franchisee.

All three new restaurants in the Thavhani Mall are opening in the wake of the very positive trading results of all already resident fast food chains, namely McDonald’s, Spurs and Nandos.
