Multinational Unilever has opened an African-wide hub in Johannesburg to expand the business in Africa. The new hub will develop high level strategy for the continent while the existing Unilever locations will continue to operate normally.

Unilever has just launched a new hub for Africa, in Johannesburg, South Africa. The new hub aims at building and increasing Africa-specific know-how and information and focus on high-level coordination and strategy for the continent. All existing Unilever units in the continent will therefore continue to take up operations in the markets where the brand is already present. As stated by Bruno Witvoet, Unilever Africa President, the new centre will focus on capitalizing on the “global and African talent to contribute in turn to the growing body of knowledge on African business.”

The Johannesburg centre will serve to create the necessary synergies of cooperation between Unilever’s African capabilities with the aim of expanding the business in the continent, especially through the development and deepening of local roots in the existing markets.
