Africa-focused fund manager XSML’s African Rivers Fund has invested in DRC retailer Maison Galaxy.
Galaxy was founded in 2014. It operates eight stores in Kinshasa, Goma, Katanga and Kisangani. Maison Galaxy is in the process of merging with sister company Shayna, which has ten stores, most of which are in Kinshasa. Both chains focus on affordable cosmetics and general products.
Maison Galaxy will use the investment to fund expansion with three new stores and to improve back end operational efficiencies.
