Kenyan retailer Naivas is set to open a new store in Machakos, its third in the county. The new outlet, the largest outside of Nairobi, will be the new anchor tenant of the 18,500m² Crystal Rivers Mall.

According to the retailer’s representatives, the chosen location is due to its strategic importance. David Kimani, Naivas’ Managing Director said that the expansion decision is mainly based on the county’s growing population and on the opportunities it provides in the near future. New housing developments and residential settlements as well as the establishment of multiple businesses around Crystal Rivers will bring along a captive market of 400 households.

Aside from its recent outlet expansion about which we recently wrote here, Naivas is currently working on producing its own line of private label products.
