The Angolan authorities, present at the opening, underlined the importance that the new outlet will have in the creation of new dynamics in local business. According to the province’s Governor, private investment and individual entrepreneurs, especially young people, would now benefit from a preferential channel to sell their products. On their side, Shoprite Angola General Manager stated that Shoprite employs, in the country, 5200 young people across its stores and plans to increase this number in the near future. In fact, the retailer which currently has 29 outlets in Angola has plans to expand further, opening 15 new outlets in the next year and a half.
