New modern market complex being built in Pointe-Noire

Pointe-Noire, The Republic of Congo’s second city, is due to get a new food retail complex capable of housing 5,000 traders in 2019.

Work has started on a new market complex in Pointe-Noire in the Republic of Congo. The new complex is being built by Italian company Franco Villarecci. In 2015 Franco Villarecci started work to renovate the country’s largest market, Total, in Bacongo, Brazzaville, which is home to 8,000 traders.

The new supermarket complex will be built over three floors, comprise two blocks and house 5,000 traders. It will also feature a new supermarket, a cold stores, restaurants and outdoor seating. Work is expected to last 24 months, with a provisional launch date of June 2019.
