Simba Supermarkets in Rwanda tries to buy stake in I&M Bank

Rwandan retailer Simba Supermarkets is looking to expand its activities beyond retail. Simba was one of the first applicants to the initial public offering of I&M Bank, launched by the Rwandan government. In the context of its measures to attract Rwandan private investors to successful public companies, the Ministry of Finance and Planning initiated the process of selling ots 19.81% shares in the Bank, which is afterwards to be publicly listed in the Rwandan stock exchange.

Simba Supermarkets has currently one department store in eastern Kigali, selling products of different ranges from electronics to groceries, furniture and clothing.
