French wine merchant Nicolas, which has more than 500 stores in France, has opened its first wine shop in Mauritius. The new store is in the popular Bagatelle Mall of Mauritius. It has more than 300 SKUs and occupies 70m² of floorspace. It will stock French wine, spirits and is aimed both at wine lovers buying for themselves and the gift market.
The shop fit reflects the French stores: lots of wood and soft lighting designed to give an intimate feeling of being in a wine cellar. The store will be staffed by four specialist retail assistants trained to help customers pick the right wine.
