Modern Market, the largest shopping mall in Chad, opens

The Modern Market mall has opened near the airport in N’Djaména, Chad’s capital. Built on three floors and with an overall floorspace of 4,500m², the mall is Chadian owned by a local businessman, Adam Mahamat Youssouf. It is estimated to have cost 5bn CFA francs (US$10m) to build.

Within the mall there is a 2,600m² supermarket specialising in products imported from Europe, the UAE, Turkey and Lebanon. The mall also features an 80 seat restaurant, bakery, hairdresser, gym and 22 residential units.
